Description
Lighthouse on Punta Roballera indicating access to the port of Cudillero, and offering spectacular views of the town, is a privileged vantage point for photographing the Cantabrian coast. Nowadays it is readapted as tourist accommodation. The lighthouse of Cudillero was inaugurated in 1858, it replaced the old signaling system, which consisted in the use of bonfires lit by the fishermen's wives. It was electrified in 1930. In 1945 a siren was installed, which emits the letter "D" in Morse code, since the letter "C", which would be the logical one, was already used by the Candás lighthouse.
