Description
The Mushroom Finder Exhibition is a thematic museum-exhibition located in Castillo de Almonaster la Real street, in the province of Huelva, in Andalusia, with coordinates near 37.87050, -6.78797. The sources consulted describe it as a unique museum resource, linked to the mycological dissemination and educational routes on mushrooms in the region. Its content is a particular collection of mushrooms from the region, presented as a small didactic exhibition, installed in the surroundings of the village castle. The information available specifically identifies it as a "Museum", although its characteristics make it seem more like an interpretative exhibition than a conventional large-scale museum. The heritage context of Almonaster la Real is particularly relevant, since the municipality has a historic center of great value and the famous Church-Mezquita de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción as the main landmark of the whole. In this context, this exhibition adds a complementary cultural offer focused on the natural and ethnographic heritage of the Huelva mountains. The sources reviewed do not show a chronology of foundation, nor a singular architectural style for the resource, so it should be considered a contemporary installation of local dissemination, linked to the tourist use of the space in which it is located.
