Description

The Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Environmental Space is an interpretation center located in Poza de la Sal (Burgos), at Plaza de la Villa, 2, next to the Town Hall. It is dedicated to remember the figure, childhood and legacy of the naturalist from Poza, through an informative tour about his relationship with the environment in which he grew up and the landscape that marked his sensitivity towards nature. It is a heritage and environmental tourist resource, not a historical-artistic monument in itself. Institutional sources identify it as the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Childhood Environmental Space, integrated into the network of Museums of Castilla y León and also described as an interpretation center. Its main function is interpretative and didactic, with testimonies of family and friends that help to reconstruct the personal and environmental memory of the discloser. In the sources consulted there is no record of its own architectural chronology or a relevant construction style, so it is not appropriate to attribute to it a century of construction or stylistic ascription. Its patrimonial interest lies in its exhibition content and in its biographical link with Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, born in Poza de la Sal in 1928, a key figure in the naturalist popularization in Spain. The facility is part of the cultural offer of Poza de la Sal, a town in Burgos of notable historical and scenic value, where the story of Felix is integrated into a broader itinerary of interpretation of the territory and local memory.
