Description
El Lavadero de Vinuesa is a traditional open-air laundry, built in 1872 and supplied by the waters of the Remonicio River, within the historic center of the town. It is a piece of popular architecture linked to the daily use of water, with a wooden roof and stone basins, an example of a communal work space that retained a practical and social function for decades. It was built in 1872 and was supplied by the waters of the Remonicio river, within the historic center of the town. From the visitor's point of view, the whole can be appreciated under the structure of beams, with the water running and reflections on the slabs, which helps to understand how the domestic tasks were organized in the past in mountain and mountain villages. Its interest is not only ethnographic: it also summarizes Vinuesa's relationship with water and with an environment of pine forests, streams and clean watercourses of the region.[11 The municipal tourist website includes it in the tour of the historic center, which indicates its local relevance as a visitable heritage of the town. It is a brief stop, very suitable to combine with a walk through the old town. The soft light of early morning or late afternoon usually favors photography, especially when the water and wood generate more marked contrasts. The light of the day is very good for photography, especially when the water and the wood generate more marked contrasts.[4
