Ecomuseo de la Fauna Pirenaica

The Ecomuseum of the Pyrenean Fauna is a museum of nature and environmental education located in the Castle of Ainsa, in Ainsa (Huesca, Aragon), exactly in the area of the historic center and the Plaza del Castillo. Its location in the keep or in outbuildings of the fortified enclosure links it directly with the monumental complex of the medieval town. The resource is dedicated to the fauna, flora and ecosystems of the Pyrenees, with special attention to birds of prey and bearded vultures, and functions as an interpretation and awareness center for biodiversity conservation. The Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded Vulture manages the space and maintains an educational exhibition with panels, models and audiovisuals, as well as a shelter for birds of prey that cannot live in the wild.
