Description
Masagó Caves The Masagó Caves are a group of caves excavated manually in the rock of Alcalá del Júcar that show how the traditional cave houses of Arab origin were. Their main attraction is a long tunnel that crosses the mountain and leads to viewpoints with impressive views over the gorge of the Júcar River. The interior houses an old medieval wine cellar, fossil collections, a numismatic museum and recreations of traditional life in the area. El Duende Route The Elf Route is a subway route that complements the visit to the Masagó Caves. The route goes through passages carved into the rock, corners decorated with figures of elves and small surprises for visitors, creating an especially attractive experience for families and children. The route allows visitors to discover the interior of the mountain while connecting different areas of the caves and offers a different perspective of the subway heritage of Alcalá del Júcar.
