The Cueva de las Palomas is a fluvial and karstic place in the municipality of Yátova, articulated by the river Juanes and dominated by a waterfall of about 20 meters that falls on a small pool in an environment of limestone rock eroded by water. The cavity that gives its name to the place is a wide and unique room, very visually linked to the waterfall and the immediate escarpment of the ravine. From the visitation area you can see the channel, the waterfall and the shelter of the cave, as well as a landscape of slopes and Mediterranean vegetation of riparian and scrubland. The interest of the place is in the combination of water, rock and relief, with a very short but scenic route, frequent in nature itineraries of the Hoya de Buñol and in the Ruta del Agua del río Juanes. The place is mentioned by the municipal tourism of Yátova as a space of singular beauty and as a crossing point of the SL-CV 31 trail, which links with other enclaves in the area. It is also described as a place that can run out of water in dry periods, so the appearance changes considerably depending on the time of year and recent rains. It is advisable to visit it after episodes of rain or in months with greater water supply, when the waterfall shows better flow; in summer the environment is still pleasant, but the waterfall can be greatly reduced or dry.
