Description
Cueva Mona is a natural site in Linares de Mora, in the Sierra de Gúdar, province of Teruel, associated with a rocky relief very close to the town center and visible from the road. In the sources consulted it is presented as one of the emblematic enclaves of the municipality, within a mountain environment of strong landscape character, with slopes, rocks and masses of pine forest typical of this part of the Gúdar-Javalambre region. The interest of the place is in the cavity itself and in the rocky wall that surrounds it, which have been used to install an initiation via ferrata. This tourist-sporting infrastructure covers 87 meters, saves an unevenness of 40 meters and is developed in several sections, with Tibetan bridge and option of flying abseil. Due to its elevated position, it provides a view of the village and the immediate valley, which reinforces its panoramic value. Beyond its sporting use, Cueva Mona forms part of the most recognizable natural image of Linares de Mora and is mentioned in local and informative content as one of its highlights. Its relevance is above all scenic and recreational, linked to the enhancement of the environment by the town council and the visit of those seeking natural mountain heritage with outdoor activities. The area is of interest both for the contrast between rock, forest and historic center and for its condition of quick access to a unique place in a high mountain municipality. It is a particularly attractive resource for visitors who want to combine nature, viewpoints and moderate activity in a well-preserved rural environment.
