Description
This imposing Gothic-Renaissance church from the 12th to 16th centuries is known as the "Giralda de Campos" for its spectacular 63-meter high tower that dominates the town's skyline. Inside you can visit a temple with three naves covered by star-shaped ribbed vaults, where attractive features such as the main altarpiece, a unique 15th century walnut pulpit and the chapel of San Ildefonso with its valuable tombs stand out. Its great artistic and architectural value, which was ennobled under the patronage of the Duke of Lerma in the 17th century, places it as one of the most emblematic monuments of the province of Palencia.
