The Nocedo Waterfall, also known as Cola de Caballo de Nocedo or Valdecésar stream waterfall, is a small waterfall about 4 meters high formed in a narrow gorge before the mouth of the stream into the Curueño River. The channel between rocky walls gives it a very compact and visible appearance even with a short walk. It is included in the geological inventory of the IGME as a place of geological interest, which reinforces its scenic and educational value. From the point of visit you can see the water fall between rocks, with the riverbed very close and a mountain environment gently shaped by the river. The main attraction is not the height, but the proximity to the waterfall, the sound of the water and the sensation of entering a narrow pass equipped with walkways and bridges. It is a particularly comfortable visit to combine with other landscapes of the Curueño valley. The waterfall is mentioned in local guides and in tourism and hiking resources of the Leonese mountains, and is usually considered one of the most accessible attractions in the area. There is no specific protection for the waterfall, but it is of geological and scenic interest. The best time to see it with good flow is usually spring and autumn, after rains; in summer it can carry less water and in winter it can partially freeze.
