Casa del Parque Natural Laguna Negra y Circos Glaciares de Urbión

The House of the Natural Park Laguna Negra and Glacial Cirques of Urbión is the interpretation center of the protected natural area of the Laguna Negra and glacial cirques of the Sierra de Urbión, located in Vinuesa, in the Soria region of Pinares. It is located on the forest track from Vinuesa to the Laguna Negra, about 3 km from the town center, in a mountain environment associated with the high altitudes of the province of Soria. The resource is not an isolated monument, but an environmental outreach equipment installed to explain a park of glacial relief, forest masses and high mountain lakes. From here you can interpret the landscape of the Laguna Negra, the glacial cirques of the north and northwest slopes of the Sierra de Urbión and the mosaic of pine forests, streams and wetlands that characterize this sector of the mountains of Soria. Its interest for visitors is that it allows them to understand what is seen on the ground: a landscape shaped by Quaternary ice, with glacial lakes and a high altitude environment of great ecological value. The available documentation indicates that the park exceeds 4,600 hectares and is part of the Natura 2000 Network, with protection figures such as ZEPA and LIC. The Park House functions as a gateway to this protected area and as a support for the routes and interpretative visits from Vinuesa. Its relevance is environmental and educational, because it helps to contextualize one of the best known natural landscapes of the province of Soria and Castilla y León.
