Water Road

The Camino del Agua is a short circular hiking route in Mogarraz, in the Sierra de Francia, in the province of Salamanca. The itinerary is articulated around the valley of the river Milanos, a tributary of the river Francia, and links the environment of Mogarraz with that of Monforte de la Sierra, in a mountain landscape of strong rural and natural identity. It is a walk of about 6-7 kilometers, of low or medium difficulty depending on the source consulted, with an approximate duration of two hours. The route runs through forests of chestnut, oak, alder and strawberry trees, as well as areas of traditional crops of the Sierra de Francia, so it is interesting both for its scenic value and for the constant presence of water in streams, streams and small waterfalls. Its uniqueness lies in the combination of nature and contemporary art: the route is part of the "Art in Nature" proposals and is dotted with sculptures and works by different artists along the way. It is also marked with trail markers and its own logo, which facilitates the visit and reinforces its character as an interpretive itinerary. Because of its location in the Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia Natural Park and because it has become one of the best-known routes in the area, the Camino del Agua is of recreational, scenic and cultural interest.
