Description

Cala del Corralete is a small coastal cove in the municipality of Nijar, on the coast of Almeria, integrated in the environment of the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar. It is a natural beach, about 400 meters long and about 30 meters wide, with fine sand mixed with rocky areas and a very marked rocky relief at its ends. The interest of the place is in its virgin coastal landscape, open to the sea and surrounded by cliffs and volcanic materials, with usually clear waters and seabed attractive for swimming, snorkeling and diving. From the cove there are views of the Cabo de Gata lighthouse and the surroundings of the Arrecife de las Sirenas, two very recognizable landscape landmarks of the coast of Nijá. Its main relevance is environmental and scenic: it is part of one of the best known natural areas of Andalusia and retains a little-transformed character, without immediate urbanization or beach services. This condition explains its value in nature guides and coastal tourism in Nijar, especially for visitors looking for protected coastline and low intervention. It should be noted that some sources also cite it as Playa del Corralete; in any case, the coordinates provided place it in this sector of Cabo de Gata, not in other beaches of the same name in the province.

How to get there
